Yes, Champaign is a beautiful girl, but please read her whole story before falling in love with her photos. This pretty girl is from a prolific local backyard breeder, who has not been responsible about taking its dogs back, so we sadly end up with the responsibility. At 4 years old, Champaign is reluctantly being surrendered for some medical concerns and temperament issues around the other dog and children. She has been leaking urine since being spayed, and none of the regular remedies with the previous home seemed to make a difference. Our vet figured out her diet was causing urinary crystals, so those should clear up with a Rx diet. We will recheck her urine after 30 days of the special food to confirm this is the solution. In a temporary foster home, Champaign has confirmed that she’s a diva and prefers to be the only dog, so she will need to be the queen bee in her forever home. We suspected her change of heart around the other dog and kids was connected to a thyroid issue, but that test came up normal. In her previous home, she had some basic training, but she still has some improvement before she’s the perfect dog. Her previous family said she loves everyone she meets and likes to give kisses. She’s strong and determined, but she does listen. Due to her history, she is not a candidate to be placed with other dogs or young kids, and she has no history with cats. We know that’s a tall order, but her looks make up for her specific requirements.
