Chelsea was already in Texas before the hurricane, and we offered to help our friends in TX make room for the influx of dogs that will need their help when the month-long stray hold is up after Harvey. Prior to the storm, Chelsea was living in a home with a young bull terrier, and the play growling and mouth wresting worried the lady around the grandkids, so she brought both dogs to the local shelter. The shelter assessed Chelsea and suggests she be placed with a male her size instead of another female, and we will assess that after she settles in here. The previous owner noted that Chelsea had a bad experience at a dog park, so she is nervous about meeting new dogs. Chelsea failed the cat test and might be too jumpy for young kids. On the drive here, she enjoyed sleeping over in a hotel and was a model passenger. Chelsea is 3 years old, but she still acts like a puppy. She is able to jump a 5-foot fence, so she will need a secure exercise and potty plan.
