Maxedon is a sweet and loving Doberman who probably has some Rottweiler in his ancestry; you can see that in his very big feet and long fur. He is a gentle giant who loves people and dogs. Cats are just not his thing! He was an owner turn-in from Kentucky and was 20 pounds overweight. He is now a trim 95 pounds! He does have some fat bodies that Dobermans often get as they age. Our vet confirmed that they are begin fatty tumors and don’t need to be removed. He loves being more active and is ready for walks and playtime then resting comfortably in his bed. He is housebroken and crate trained and is respectful of gates. Maxedon loves to be with his person and in typical Doberman fashion loves his ears and belly rubbed and would cuddle with you all day. Maxedon has a condition known as hypothyroidism, so he will need inexpensive daily medication to regulate his thyroid. Hypothyroidism is very common in Dobermans and these dogs still live long and happy lives. Check out the video of him taking treats very gently. We think he’ll be fine with kids 7 and up however he has no known history with children.
