Raven is a 5-year-old, 57 pound, female, black and tan, cropped Doberman that came to IDR+ after her owners could no longer care for her and she was living outside for most of the day. Raven is accustomed to a fast-paced lifestyle in her previous home and is learning how sweet and relaxing life can be now.
This spunky gal has a BIG personality and LOVES to please her people. She would be a BLAST for an active household that has time to spend with her. She is an attentive and focused student during training sessions and loves treats! She needs to be reminded to take treats gently and is learning manners. She is non-destructive to toys, bedding, and furniture; does not counter surf; is house trained, knows sit, down, stay, and comes when called.
She loves nothing more than to spend time outside running around and chasing squirrells. She has a lot of energy for a 5 year old Dobe and would be best placed on a 6 foot privacy fence to help her focus in the yard. She is learning how to walk nicely on leash and gets over-excited when she sees other dogs out and about on walks.
In her current foster home, she is integrated with a small breed dog after slow introductions but hasn’t been tested with dogs her size. She may enjoy a playmate her size with proper introductions, but she doesn’t appreciate the cat so will not be placed with one. Due to her energy, she would be best placed with older kids teens and up. Reportedly, she did live with many children of varying ages successfully in her prior home. Potential adopters should come prepared with a crate for the car ride home.
