When Hurricane Harvey hit TX, Wrigley had already been sitting in a Dallas shelter. To make room for other dogs in need after the hurricane, IDR+ took a volunteer up on his offer to drive a dog back when he went there for work. Meet Wrigley! He’s about 2 years old, 50 pounds, and heartworm positive. He will be treated and recover in a foster home, so he will not be able to be adopted until early November. Wrigley was a stray, so he has no history with cats or kids, and it’s too early to get a read on his feelings about other dogs. The TX shelter wasn’t sure how he felt, but that it a stressful environment to get a good read. He rode great in the car and doesn’t mind the crate in his foster home. He was a little nervous about navigating down a flight of stairs, but up was okay. Wrigley is a sweet young boy who likes to playbow in the yard. He walks nicely on a leash, but he’d appreciate training to learn the basics. He has selective hearing, but maybe we need to talk to him in a TX accent for him to understand. Ya’ll fixin’ to get adopted?
