Amber is a smart 4-year-old female Chihuahua-mix who is looking for a special home with someone who is willing to take it slow while getting to know her. She may play hard-to-get and keep her distance when you first meet her, but it isn’t personal. Amber came into IDR+ pregnant and very confused, so it takes some patience and time for her to trust new people. Once you have earned her trust, she is a wonderful companion who will eventually cover you in kisses and cuddle on your lap. Amber is 15 pounds of cuteness and will let everyone know when someone is at the door. She is the best little doorbell you can ask for! Once Amber has learned to trust you, she will love you will have a new best friend! When her foster mom comes home, Amber stands on her hind legs to do a little dance and smiles. She loves to go for car rides and leash walk through the neighborhood. When she is in the house, she enjoys being perched on the couch to look out the window. Due to her initial shyness, Amber will do best with no children, and while she tolerates the other dogs in her foster home, both large and small, Amber would prefer to be the only dog so she doesn’t need to share the attention! She barked at the kitties when she was cat tested.
