Petey Pointer, along with his littermate Poppy, were picked up along a highway in rural Missouri by a concerned citizen and turned into the police station. They are approximately 12-14 weeks old and currently weigh in around 20 lbs. The poor pups were covered in fleas, but after a bath, they are now feeling way better. They appear to be a mix of field bred English Pointer, Jack Russell Terrier, and maybe something else, but we are not sure. We can’t guarantee what size they’ll be as adults, but we’re guessing around 40 pounds, possibly less, based on their current size and age. They are intentionally being adopted into separate homes to avoid ‘littermate syndrome,’ but they would appreciate having an existing confident dog to show them the ropes. They like other dogs and are young enough to grow up with cats. They are fine with children. They need practice walking on the leash and will require obedience to boost their confidence and build their vocab.
