Petey is a very sweet 1-year-old, 6-pound Chihuahua, that came to our rescue after his family moved away and left him in their apartment.  The owner’s sister found him in the apartment by himself and took him to the shelter to be surrendered. Despite what happened to him, he still loves to be around people!
He enjoys playing with his toys and loves giving kisses. He will give kisses to anyone at his level. Petey can live with other dogs but when bored will antagonize the larger dogs that he lives with.
Petey like most Chihuahuas has a big personality.  He likes to be in his own and play and just have fun. He would definitely benefit from the companionship of another dog that would put up with his antics.  He would also do well as an only dog but would benefit from someone that will be having a lot of interaction with him to keep him busy.
Petey is very curious and has to be monitored as he has been known to get into a purse or two.  It is that curiosity that makes him amazing at dog puzzles.  If you give him one that dispenses treats he will be in his glory.
He loves to go on walks and seems to be good on car rides as well. It takes a lot to intimate this little guy, but at the end of the day he just wants to be loved and snuggle on his blanket.
So if you are someone who likes a dog with a lot of energy, willing to try anything or go anywhere, with a big dog approach to life, you might have found your match with Petey.
