Princess is a Shih Tzu / Poodle mix that was surrendered to a local shelter by her owners grandson as she was no longer able to care for her. The President of our rescue just happened to be there at the same time and saw how bad of shape she was in. She was matted beyond belief and was grossly underweight. He could not leave her behind and decided that her best chance was going to be with IDR Plus. He took her to one of our partner vet clinics where she was given a dental and a shave down.
As you can imagine, she was very timid and hesitant to be held or touched. It took her just over a week to start to warm up to her foster family and their resident dogs. As each day has passed she has become more loving and friendly with her foster family and their friends. She is slowly gaining weight and will shortly undergo a minor surgery to remove some mammary tumors and be spayed.
She is a wonderful foster who loves to play catch, get belly rubs and hang out on the couch and watch TV with her foster mom. She follows her human foster sisters everywhere they go and will entertain herself with stuffed toys. She has also began to play with her foster fur baby sisters.
When called she will run over to you and sit and wait for her next command.
Princess is looking for a low key home that will give her lots of love, patience and attention. In return, you will get a loving and loyal companion who will make you the center of her world.
UPDATE: Princess underwent extensive surgeries for a spay, mammary growth removal, cherry eye correction, and several pre- and post-op tests to make sure she was on the road to recovery. Her vet bills are over $750 if you would like to sponsor this sweet girl!
