Sponsor Nutterbutter by purchasing:

Nutterbutter is an adorable 2 month old female Syrian hamster and is she is litter box trained. She will explore all over when she is out of the cage! With love and attention, she will bond with her new family and be a wonderful hamster!

Nutterbutter loves to run and play. She will need a cage with a wheel and safe place to run around for time out of the cage with you! Nutterbutter would enjoy new things to play with and explore in and out of her cage, such as hiding treats and food in several spot or wrapping them in bathroom tissue. The bathroom tissue will also make safe nesting material. She would also love toys such as wheels, wooden log rolls, cardboard tubes and boxes, such as cereal box and ceramic and plastic houses provided for her to play with!

Nutterbutter looks forward to her daily vegetables and is learning to gently take them from your hand. She loves Broccoli, Carrots, Cauliflower, Apple and Dandelion leaves.

Nutterbutter has been handled since she was 2 weeks old and is full of personality. Nutterbutter will quickly bond with her new family and is a complete sweetheart out of the cage.

Nutterbutter is easy to handle and very calm. In the cage, she still needs some work in building her confidence when being picked up so children should not be the ones to remove her from the cage initially. Once out of the cage, she calmly explores all over you and loves when new toys to be provided for her to play with!

Syrian hamsters will fight with each other when they reach maturity. They are solitary animals and need to be housed individually. Nutterbutter would love a home where she is the only hamster in a cage and gets lots of love and attention out of the cage daily!

Since we are all volunteers, Illinois Doberman Rescue Plus only considers approved applicants to meet our orphans in our foster homes. Please email for an application if you are interested in giving Nutterbutter her forever home. Her adoption fee is $10. Nutterbutter’s foster home is in Schaumburg. Once your application is approved, we are happy to answer any questions you have.
