At just 8 months old, Dora should be busy doing all the things kittens do best — chasing toys, zooming through the house, and curling up for cozy naps. Instead, this sweet girl is fighting for her life.
Dora recently began struggling with what seemed like a stubborn upper respiratory infection. She stayed happy, playful, and full of kitten spirit, but something just wasn’t improving. When her breathing became more labored, she was rushed in for emergency imaging… and the results were devastating.
Dora’s lungs are filled with severe inflammation, and veterinarians strongly suspect fungal pneumonia — a serious and often life-threatening infection that kittens can develop after inhaling fungal spores from the environment. It is nobody’s fault, and there was no way to prevent it.
The good news? Dora is still fighting.
She is still purring.
She is still eating.
She still wants love and comfort.
And most importantly — this disease can be treatable, but it requires long-term, intensive care.
Dora is starting antifungal medication immediately, but her journey will likely include:
- Months of specialized medication
- Frequent veterinary rechecks
- Bloodwork and imaging to monitor her lungs
- Supportive care to help her breathe comfortably
These treatments are lifesaving… but they are also costly.
We are committed to giving Dora every chance she deserves. She is just a baby who hasn’t even gotten the chance to grow up yet.
If you are able to donate, share, or even send supportive thoughts, you are helping give Dora the chance to run, play, and breathe normally again.
Every single contribution helps keep her treatment going and keeps hope alive for this tiny fighter.
Thank you for loving Dora with us.
