Meet Coco! Don’t miss out on this 9 month old sweetheart!

Coco is adjusting well to life in her foster home, and quickly warmed up, showing her true self within a few days- she has the typical energy level of a young Dobe! She is still learning how to alert us of when she needs to take potty breaks but has not had any accidents in the house and consistently takes care of business outside. Coco is comfortable being in her crate for normal work hours, M-F with a potty break at lunch time and is ready to play all night long afterwords. She vocalizes her displeasure of being in a crate when everyone else is around but has done much better now that her crate has been moved closer to where her foster family sleeps. At feeding times, she has learned how to be patient; sitting and waiting until her foster dad releases her hold. She eats extremely well, so much so that a slow feeder bowl is recommended. She has put on ~10lbs since entering her foster home. She is very gentle when taking treats, and immediately offers a “sit” without being prompted. She is amazing in the car and quietly looks out the window during rides. She is also doing very well on the leash, pulling occasionally, but quickly adjusts to walking nicely with her handler. She is not reactive to other dogs during walks but can get spooked by different shadows when it’s a little dark out. She does, however, react to hearing dogs on TV or on your phone and is quick to sound the alarm. Coco tends to be a bit nervous when meeting new people but shows no aggression and slowly warms up to people. She has had successful trips to the hardware store as well as spending the morning at her foster mom’s office where she slowly started approaching people on her own to say hi. Coco is a true Velcro dog, who loves couch time and being with her people. As a young Dobergirl, she is mouthy, but responds well to verbal corrections. She occasionally tests the waters of picking up socks or smelling around the trashcan but again, is responsive to verbal cues. She gets along with her older foster brother, is responsive to his cues , but quickly gets nippy during playtime and often times needs her foster parents to keep her in-check. Coco would do well in a home with other dogs with similar energy levels and would likely be a superstar for any type of training. She needs continued work on meeting new people, but is getting better with each new experience.
