Guac came to us from Kalamazoo Animal Control after his owner had to surrender him when they could no longer afford his care. From the moment he arrived, this 4-year-old Doberman has been nothing but gentle, kind, and grateful for every bit of love and attention he receives.

He gets along well with other dogs, especially larger ones, and enjoys a good rough-housing playtime. Guac is housebroken, crate-trained, and has a moderate energy level. He does pull on leash but is learning. He enjoys playing with his Nylabone and chasing his Chuck-It ball. When riding in the car, he’s quiet and comfortable in a crate. One of his sweetest quirks is that he smiles when greeted in the morning or when he’s getting special attention. He’s a great boy and can’t wait to find his forever family!

When guac first entered rescue, his foster mom noticed blood in his urine. He was initially treated with a round of antibiotics and then retested. While the follow-up test showed protein in his urine, a subsequent blood test revealed he was positive for Lyme disease. He has since completed another round of antibiotics to treat the Lyme disease. His most recent test results show only slightly elevated levels, and the veterinarian feels that the situation should eventually correct itself.
