Meet Rhonda, a stunning 2-year-old blue Doberman with a gorgeous silvery-blue coat and an even more beautiful heart.

When Rhonda first arrived in foster care, it was clear life hadn’t always been kind to her. She was quiet, unsure, and learning what it meant to finally feel safe. Then one evening, everything changed. She picked up a toy and started playing for the very first time. Soon after, her foster heard her bark for the first time too. Those little milestones may seem ordinary, but for Rhonda, they were huge.

Now that she knows she’s loved, her personality is shining through. She adores splashing in the baby pool, rolling in wet grass, and soaking up every bit of attention she can get. Like many Dobermans, she’s a true Velcro girl. If you’re sitting down, she’ll be right beside you—preferably touching you. And if you stop petting her too soon, she’ll gently remind you with her famous “Dobernose.”

Rhonda gets along well with other dogs and is beginning to discover how much fun it is to play with them. She was initially a little cautious around men, but with patience and kindness, she quickly warmed up. We don’t yet know how she does with cats.

As a former stray, Rhonda is still learning that she never has to worry about where her next meal or drink will come from. She has a healthy appetite, loves her treats and peanut butter Kongs, and sometimes drinks water a little too enthusiastically. Because of that, house training is still a work in progress, but she’s making steady progress with consistency and routine.

She’s also recovering physically. When Rhonda came to us, the pads on all four of her paws were worn raw from life on the streets, and her overgrown nails made it difficult for her to stand comfortably. With some TLC, trimmed nails, and time for her paws to heal, she’s moving much better every day. Right now she’s more of a leisurely backyard explorer than a marathon runner, but as she continues to heal, we can’t wait to see what adventures she’ll enjoy.

Rhonda is looking for someone who understands that trust takes time but is so worth the wait. In return, you’ll get a loyal shadow, a gentle soul, and a best friend who will love you with her whole heart. If you’re looking for a Doberman who wants nothing more than to be by your side through life’s everyday moments, Rhonda may be the perfect match.
