Meet Ricky – a striking 2-year-old blue Doberman with a heart full of love and plenty of personality! Weighing about 70 lbs, Ricky is now healthy and looking better than ever. His beautiful coat shines, and his lively spirit makes him a dog you can’t help but notice.
Ricky is playful, affectionate, and eager to please. He has a fun morning routine that includes eating from his enrichment ball, and he communicates his excitement with his paws (sometimes a little too enthusiastically!). He also tends to mouth hands when seeking attention—habits his foster is working on, but they’ll need continued consistency and guidance in his forever home.
This boy is very smart and already knows commands like “sit” and “lay down.” He’s fully house-trained, does well in his kennel (though he rarely needs to use it), and can be trusted loose in the house when left alone. Ricky loves exploring the fenced backyard.
Ricky does have a few quirks to consider. He’s not fond of men he doesn’t know. He has done well with his foster’s boyfriend, who has been around from the start, but new men in the home will need patience and slow introductions. Ricky also has a high prey drive, so walks can be a bit of an adventure, and leash training will be important. Because of his pawing and playful mouthing, a home without small children would be best.
Ricky would thrive in an active household. He’s affectionate, energetic, and deeply loyal once he bonds—truly a dog that will bring joy, laughter, and love to the right family.
