Our adoption radius is 3 hours from the Chicagoland area.

Sweet little Foxx has come a long way in the last month. He was found stray in mid-March and went unclaimed. His fur was extremely matted and he had urine burns from a belly band that was on him for far too long. Our friends at the area shelter trimmed him up and rid him of the rotting teeth in his mouth. He doesn’t have many teeth left so does require soft food. This little guy is definitely in his senior years and has some fears he is working through, although he adores dogs in similar size with low energy levels. He is most comfortable following a canine buddy around the house so we are requiring that he be placed with another small and friendly dog. He is scared of fast moving children so would do best in a calm environment. He is curious about cats and very friendly to them. He is reluctant to be touched by people until he builds trust. Foxx can’t hear well (possibly completely deaf with his advanced age) and has a slightly enlarged heart as well as a collapsing trachea. He requires medication for life for these diagnoses. Despite all of this, he is slowly learning how to be a beloved and cherished pet in his foster home. He enjoys sitting alongside his foster mom on the couch and has quickly learned to enjoy ear rubs.

Foxx is in the guardian angel program. More information can be found here: www.ildoberescue.com/adopt/what-is-the-guardian-angel-program/
