Meet Baron – A Gentle Velcro Boy Ready for His Forever Home

Baron is a handsome one-year-old boy who came to us after being found wandering as a stray. While we don’t know how his snout was injured, it continues to heal beautifully with time and care — and it has never dimmed his sweet, gentle spirit. It’s clear that before rescue, someone spent time working with this skinny, long-legged boy, and it shows in his manners and eagerness to please.

Baron is incredibly affectionate and thrives on being close to his people. He’ll happily snuggle at your side, lean in with his head against you, and absolutely lives for ear rubs and gentle petting along his back and sides. He has a true “Velcro dog” personality and bonds deeply with his humans.

In his foster home, Baron has been nothing short of a gem. He is very well crate trained, settles nicely, and has great house manners. He knows several commands including sit, lay down, come, and wait, and he is highly food-motivated, making him easy and enjoyable to train. He is currently working on polite greetings (no jumping) and learning to ignore counters.

Baron does well with other dogs and has shown excellent social skills. He currently lives with Dobermans of different ages and energy levels — a playful, middle-aged female and a large senior male who prefers his space — and Baron respects both relationships beautifully.

He enjoys walks and does well on leash with a no-pull harness, though continued leash training will help him shine even more. Baron loves toys, bones, and playing fetch — he’ll happily chase a ball or stick all day, and may even toss it for himself if you don’t keep up! He also prances joyfully around the house, bringing smiles wherever he goes.

Baron does have a strong prey drive, so this should be considered when choosing his forever home. With his great recall, intelligence, and eagerness to please, he will continue to thrive with structure, consistency, and love.

Baron is a loving, loyal, and truly special boy who is ready to begin his next chapter with a family who will adore him as much as he adores them.
