Holland (“Holly”) is a 2-year-old, 54-pound Doberman who is happiest when she’s with her people. If you’re looking for a dog that wants to be your shadow, Holly is your girl. She loves attention, loves being loved on, and is perfectly content curled up next to you on the couch—sometimes even in your lap.

Holly gets along great with dogs of all sizes and genders. She wants to be friends with everyone and is always up for a play session. She’s also wonderful with kids and is learning that not everyone appreciates an enthusiastic Doberman greeting. She’s making great progress with her jumping, although she occasionally forgets herself when she’s excited.

She is housebroken, crate trained, and has excellent house manners. She doesn’t need to be crated when left alone and can be trusted to behave herself. The only thing she occasionally gets into is a toilet paper roll, which she likes to steal and proudly carry around the house.

Holly enjoys all the usual dog things—toys, Nylabones, cow femur bones, and treats of any kind. Yogurt (especially if it’s spoon-fed), eggs, bananas, blueberries, and peanut butter are some of her favorites. She has great manners around food, waits her turn, and takes treats gently.

Her leash skills are improving every day, and she does best walking with a harness. She also has excellent recall and would much rather stay close to her people than wander off on her own.

When Holly first came into foster care, she was very fearful of loud voices, sudden noises, and strangers. She would often drop to the ground and panic when something scared her. Over time, she’s gained a lot of confidence and has really come out of her shell. She is friendly with everyone she meets, though she may be a little cautious at first until she decides you’re okay.

Holly is a sweet, easygoing girl who just wants a family to love. She’s the kind of dog that will follow you from room to room, keep you company on the couch, and remind you every day how happy she is to be part of the family.
