Say hello to Pepper! This super sweet girl came to us from animal control after someone dropped her off saying they found her as a stray. For a stray, she sure has gotten comfortable in her foster home quickly. If you are not a fan of allowing dogs on furniture, stop reading now. This girl loves sitting on the couch. And if her foster mom is there to lay next to, lay against or lay all over, even better!!

She does get excited and tends to jump up, so a family with older children would be ideal. We’ve also seen that the sighthound in her calls out and her strong prey drive takes over, so she would not be suitable for a home with cats. And rest assured she will chase away all of the squirrels or rabbits from your backyard!

Pepper is working with her foster mom on leash walking, but she gets excited easily. She will need to continue her practice so she can walk nicely on a leash. We think that with consistent, steady training, she’ll get the hang of it. In the meantime, this athletic girl will need a home with a fenced in yard when she gets a case of the zoomies.

She has been good in her crate and is house trained. She seems to be okay with other dogs as well so could fit into a home with a well socialized dog. She also knows some basic commands like sit and paw and has been working with her foster mom on learning more. She has been eager to please so there is a lot of promise that she can be a model student. If you’re interested in adding some spice into your life, reach out to us to meet Pepper today!

We respond quickly to applications so please check your Spam or Junk email folders to prevent missing our response.
