Claire spent the beginning of her life at a large breeding facility with no positive human interaction. When she came into IDR+ months ago she would not come near anyone. She would cower and shake with fear in the back of her crate when anyone came within 5 feet of her.

Claire is not a fan of new things, but warms up to change on her own terms. It took a lot of love, patience, and treats to get her to understand that she was now safe with us.

Claire loves her foster mom but loves her crate even more. Her crate is her safe place. She goes in there when she starts to feel overwhelmed or simply to just relax or to stash toys that she loves to hoard in her crate. She does like to meet new people, and she is learning that people can be very cool, especially with treats in their hands.

Claire gets along great with other dogs and they have helped her build her confidence. She rides nicely in a car and is learning that walks are pretty cool as long as there is not a lot of activity.

Claire is a special needs girl that will require patience and an understanding on how to deal with a timid dog. She does take an inexpensive drug that helps with her anxiety. If you are interesting in meeting this sweetheart, please contact IDR+.

We respond quickly to applications so please check your Spam or Junk email folders to prevent missing our response.
