Daisy is only 10 months old, and she was surrendered to a shelter over Thanksgiving weekend. It’s clear she has not had much effort put into her, but she will come around quickly with some training, patience, and consistency. The owner give up form said she can go a full work day crated, and she lived with a 12-year-old kid and a cat. She did not live with other dogs, but she was play bowing to make friends right away at IDR+. With people, she needs a few minutes of positive interaction to warm up and trust them. Daisy rode nicely in the car, but she was unsure about hopping in the crate. The paperwork also said she pulled hard when wearing a prong collar and a retractable leash, so we will fit her for a more appropriate front-clip harness and safer leash. She is young and just needs some structure.
