Because we are all volunteers, Illinois Doberman Rescue Plus only considers approved applicants to meet our orphans in our foster homes. Meet Cash!

Cash is a 4-year-old red Doberman who is pretty much move-in ready. He’s fully potty trained, doesn’t chew, and can be trusted to have free roam of the house while his people are away. Basically, he’s got the whole “responsible adult” thing down.

Cash is affectionate without being overly Velcro — he loves his people, but thankfully, he believes you should still be allowed to use the bathroom alone. He’s eager to please, has great recall, and is always ready to be part of whatever his people are doing.

He can be a little barky and gets very excited when squirrels or rabbits make an appearance. The good news is that he listens when asked to settle down. He’s also working hard on his manners, particularly when it comes to counter surfing and taking treats gently. Cash is what we affectionately call a land shark, so reminders are still needed.

Cash loves meeting other dogs and can sometimes come on a little strong because he’s so excited to say hello. Despite his enthusiasm, he’s actually a soft, easygoing guy at heart. He has not been cat tested.

Cash is a fun, affectionate, well-behaved Doberman who would love a family that will continue working with him on his manners while appreciating all the great qualities he already brings to the table.
