Because we are all volunteers, Illinois Doberman Rescue Plus only considers approved applicants to meet our orphans in our foster homes. Meet Rocks! He’s a 2-year-old male Doberman who came to us after being found wandering stray with the Chicago suburbs. This friendly boy is quite exuberant and has a true zest for life. He’s a strong one and pulls very hard on the leash and needs to learn some manners but since he’s a Doberman that will come quickly and he’s eager to please. He knows the sit command already. A fence yard is required for exercise – leash walking alone won’t cut it for this energetic boy. He seems to want to play with the other dogs he’s met. He has not been cat tested. Children in the home should be older – maybe 12 and up since he’s a strong and energetic youngster himself. He’s incredibly handsome and charming but will need a Doberman or working dog savvy owner to help him develop into the good boy we know he can be.
